Housing in our time
The problem with the "housing authority" branch of the government is that it didn't do much to practically help those in need. It has become a giant behemoth of government inaction, corruption, and waste. We have tent cities popping up all over the country. We have people- that were victims of loan sharking and greedy banksters- that have lost their homes and are living on the street or in homeless shelters. The best indicator of a country's health is the ability for each family to own a home of their own. Looks like this country has been ill for a long time, and not one of our "elected officials" (formerly known as "public servants") is too concerned about the homeless. It's a national disgrace...

That was then..
Once again, the eradication of slums is explored here. A pretty glossy picture, that may leave a lot of questions than it does answers. I get the feeling that residents weren't EXACTLY the gung ho Go ahead-and-raze-my-house! than it appears to be in this film. But still quite good shots of slums of the past, which I am sure is a lot less worse now than it was then (America wise). (Insert political diatribe here NOW!)
